Nourishing Nigeria through Better Dairy Nutrition
Nutrition is at the heart of the Nigerian Dairy Centre of Excellence (NDCE). The Centre connects dairy to real health outcomes by ensuring that milk and dairy products deliver the nutrients Nigerian families need high-quality protein, calcium, vitamin D, and essential B-vitamins for growth, strong bones, immunity, and sustained energy.
By serving as a training and knowledge‑sharing hub for dairy farmers, students, and processors, the NDCE translates best practice into better nutrition. Practical modules on animal health, balanced feeding, hygiene, and milk quality help preserve protein, calcium, vitamin D, and other essential nutrients from farm to cup, so the dairy that reaches families is both safe and nourishing.
Through hands-on training and knowledge sharing, we focus on practices that directly influence nutritional quality and safety: animal health, balanced feed for richer nutrient profiles, hygienic milk handling, and rigorous quality testing. By strengthening these foundations, the NDCE helps ensure that every drop of milk from farm to cup retains its nutritional value and is safe for consumption.
By building skills and local capacity across the dairy value chain, the NDCE helps ensure that milk produced locally meets high quality standards from farm to table. This work complements Arla’s commitment to improved nutrition and food security in Nigeria, and it underpins the consistently high quality in the Dano portfolio; Dano Full Cream Milk, Dano Skim Milk, and fortified variants. That reliability makes everyday nutrition simpler and more accessible: whether enjoyed as a daily glass of milk, stirred into porridge, or used in cooking, Dano helps families, students, and growing children meet their nutrient needs with confidence.
Ultimately, the Centre contributes to making wholesome, affordable dairy more accessible reinforcing dairy’s role in everyday health and wellbeing across Nigeria. Together with Dano and our community partnerships, we are Nourishing Nigeria: turning shared knowledge into better diets, every day.
