Arla Foods Nigeria is proud to be part of the driving force behind the recently launched Choose Milk Campaign, a nationwide initiative focused on advancing nutrition awareness and promoting informed dairy consumption across Nigeria. The campaign is designed to help consumers better understand the nutritional benefits of real dairy milk, while addressing widespread misconceptions about milk and creamers in the market.

As an active industry partner, Arla is playing a key role in shaping and amplifying the campaign's impact. The campaign is co funded by the European Union and implemented in collaboration with the Danish Dairy Board and key public sector institutions. Together, these partners are driving a shared ambition: to improve nutrition literacy and empower Nigerian families to make healthier dietary choices through better access to accurate information.

At the heart of the campaign is a critical insight - many consumers are unable to clearly distinguish between real dairy milk and creamers, despite the significant differences in their nutritional value. Through Choose Milk, Arla and its partners are actively addressing this gap by bringing clear, science-based information directly to consumers, highlighting the unique nutritional benefits of milk, including high-quality protein, calcium, and essential vitamins that support growth, immunity, and overall wellbeing.

To ensure meaningful reach and impact, the campaign is being rolled out across the country through a mix of community engagement, school programmes, media outreach, and public awareness initiatives. Arla’s involvement reflects its broader commitment to supporting sustainable improvements in nutrition and strengthening trust in dairy as a vital part of a balanced diet.

This commitment is closely aligned with the work of the Nigerian Dairy Centre of Excellence (NDCE). By connecting scientific knowledge with practical insights, the NDCE continues to play a key role in supporting initiatives like Choose Milk ensuring that awareness translates into lasting behavioural change and improved health outcomes for Nigerian families.
