We want to grow and we care about how we do it. We want to be a responsible company with a responsible mindset and relations.
Suppliers' responsibility
We strive to ensure that our suppliers are willing to comply with the requirements set out in our Code of Conduct and that they support us in our efforts to respect human rights as set out in our Human Rights Policy.
Our suppliers are contractually bound to meet our requirements. We ask them to sign our Code of Conduct for Suppliers and Business Partners and evaluate and follow up on their ability to comply with our requirements.
Arla’s statement on Responsible Sourcing
We are dedicated to operate and develop our business in a sustainable and responsible manner, while at the same time adding value to people’s lives. For this purpose we have our Statement on Responsible Sourcing which outlines our ways of working in our upstream supply chain.
Deforestation and conversion-free supply chains
Arla is committed to securing deforestation and conversion-free supply chains for our primary risk commodities (palm, soy and forest fibre) by 2025. Acting upon our supply chains, both with directly sourced ingredients as well as feed used on Arla farms, is one of our most important levers in halting the loss of natural biomes and creating a positive impact on nature, the climate and people.

Engaging in industry dialogues
We engage in dialogues with industry organisations to discuss and agree industry standards in the individual countries in which we operate like the UK Soy Manifesto in the United Kingdom, 'Dansk Alliance for Ansvarlig Soja' in Denmark and 'Svenska plattformen för riskgrödor' in Sweden. You can see our action plan for sourcing soy responsibly here.
