Arla Foods amba’s Executive Management Team (EMT) is responsible for the company's daily operations and for ensuring timely reporting and provision of information to the Board of Directors and Board of Representatives.

The EMT consists of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and six executives.

Group CEO

Since joining Arla Foods in 1987, Peder has progressively worked his way up through Senior Management positions. Firstly through marketing roles in Germany, Saudi Arabia and Denmark, and later through general management roles such as Divisional Director and Group Executive Director with responsibility for the Nordic markets. In 2005, he became CEO of Arla Foods aged 42, the youngest CEO in the company’s history. Peder holds a MSc in Economics and Business Administration from Odense University.

 

Natalie Knight

Natalie Knight

CFO/Executive Vice President, Finance, Legal & IT

Since 2016, Natalie Knight has been the CFO with responsibility for Finance, Legal and IT. Prior to joining Arla in 2016, Natalie spent 17 years at adidas AG in Germany and the US, where she led Investor Relations and M&A. She has held similar roles in BASF and Bankgesellschaft Berlin and was also the Director for Business Information at the US Embassy in Germany. Natalie has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and German from the University of Arizona and completed her master’s degree in Berlin.

 

Sami Naffakh

Sami Naffakh

COO/Executive Vice President, Supply Chain 

Sami joined Arla in January 2018 as Executive Vice President for Supply Chain and member of the Executive Management Team at Arla Foods. He has a demonstrable history in FMCG supply chain, having held leadership roles within global businesses such as Unilever, Reckitt Benckiser, Danone and Estee Lauder. He has also been based in several locations across the world. He holds a master’s degree in engineering from Hautes Etudes d'Ingénieur in Lille, France and has also studied in Switzerland and the USA.

 

 

Ola Arvidsson

CHRO/Executive Vice President, HR

Ola joined Arla in 2006 as head of HR and in 2007 he became CHRO and a part of Arla’s executive management team. Prior to joining Arla, he worked 12 years for Unilever in various senior HR management positions within the Nordic and European divisions. He holds a MSc in HR Administration from Lund University and he spent 3½ years as an officer in the Royal Swedish Army.

 

 

Hanne Søndergaard

CMO/Executive Vice President, Marketing & Innovation

Since joining Arla Foods in 1989, Hanne has had a number of marketing, sales and commercial roles, whereof she has worked for a number of years in Arla UK. Hanne joined Arla’s global team in 2010 as Senior Vice President of the Butter and Spreads category, where she also took on the responsibility of the Arla brand, before becoming Senior Vice President of Global Categories and Brands in 2012. Hanne holds a master’s degree in Economics from Aarhus School of Business. 

 

Peter Giørtz-Carlsen

Peter Giørtz-Carlsen

CCO/Executive Vice President, Europe

In 2011, Peter became head of Arla Denmark and in 2014, he moved to Leeds to take responsibility for Arla UK. Since 2016, he has been CCO of Arla Foods' European business. Peter holds a master’s degree in business economics from University of Aarhus and began his career as a management consultant. Since then, Peter has completed executive education at Wharton Business School, Columbia Business School and is a member of World50. 

 

Tim Ørting Jørgensen

Tim Ørting Jørgensen

CCO/Executive Vice President, International

Since 2016, Tim has been CCO of Arla International. Tim joined Arla in 1991 as a Trade Marketing Assistant and worked his way up through various commercial management positions in France, Saudi Arabia and Brazil. In 2005, he became Divisional Director for Arla Denmark, before moving on to a position as Executive Vice President for Arla’s International markets and later Central Europe, before returning to Arla International.
